Lone Soldier FAQs
As a lone soldier, you don't pay any Arnona tax on your portion of an apartment up to 70 m² (753 ft²) — that part of the bill is completely waived.
You receive a 50% discount on your electricity bill for your apartment. To receive the discount, contact the Israel Electric Company at 103.
Lone soldiers are released early enough to make sure they get home on time:
- Fridays: released so they arrive home by 10:00 at the latest.
- Erev Rosh Hashana and Erev Pesach: released the day before the Chag, by 17:30 at the latest; Erev Chag counts as half a vacation day.
